Just look at this beautiful maple leaf quilt that Shane the Mailman brought me yesterday! Isn't it gorgeous? My partner, Carol, in the Charming Girls Mini-Quilt Swap made it for me. I told her I'd like to have something to hang on my front door for autumn, and this quilt is just the right size and shape for that--or to use as a table runner if I decide on that. Carol also included the little crow tea candle holder and a package of sparkly orange tea candles. Thank you so much, Carol. I really lucked up when I drew you as a partner.
I want to thank everyone who offered to send me black embroidery thread, and even those of you who could only sympathize with my plight. As you can see, I found some. Yesterday, Sophie and I went back to the Hobby Lobby that was closed on Sunday, and they had oodles of it. I was so pleased that I bought a whole bunch of other stuff, including several cardinal ornaments for my totem tree that I have never put up. It's going to be my Christmas tree this year. I even got a box of tiny red glass balls for the tree.
I also purchased a couple of quilting magazine and, wouldn't you know it?, found several more quilt patterns that I'm dying to make.
So I reckon I better go get to stitching if I'm going to make all these quilts in this one lifetime. If there is such a thing as reincarnation, I hope I come back as a quilter.

Congratulations on your gift. It is lovely. Please take a picture to show us where you use it.
Can you believe I've never been to Hobby Lobby? We don't have one anywhere around here. You can bet that I'll be stopping in if I ever see one.

Oh! I love the leaf quilt that Carol made for you. Now that makes me want to turn my 3 Maple Leaf blocks into something right this very minute! I could do that, yep!
Cheers for the black floss you found and have already put to good use as I see. Well done! I can never enter Hobby Lobby for one item and exit with only that one item. Sadly there's no Hobby Lobby here.
Stitch on!

What neat work on the bunny quilt! And a wonderful gift from your friend Carol. I love Michael's and Hobby Lobby - both are at least an hour from me, as are bookstores, and probably a good thing...

OMG! I am so distracted by Beverly's comment re: never having BEEN to a Hobby Lobby that I just want to tell her to come right on over to Houston & I will TAKE her to HL where we will stay ALL DAY (or until we are both totally BROKE!) Now! The bunny really pops with the black blanket stitching! BEAUTIFUL! And the maple quilt and tea candle holder? WONDERFUL! That quilt makes ME want to drink hot tea! LOL! You had an awesome partner & she did, too! LOVE YOU!

Hello...Found your blog on quilters blogs tonight. I am originally from Florence, AL and live in NC since 2003.
I love your bunnies! Your blanket stitching reminds me of my grandmothers work. The fabrics are so charming! Cant wait to see the finished piece! I am adding you to my sidebar of friends.
