A Finished Quilt Top

Library - 15985

I finally convinced myself that I would feel better if I was able to complete something this week. So today, I have sewn the borders on this little quilt top, which measures about 50 inches square. I'm not sure this has made me feel better physically, but I sure am glad to have it done. Now I can send it to the quilter or maybe try to machine quilt it myself.

My mailbox held some surprises today too. In fact, I've received several gifties from blogging friends recently. I'll show them later.

I wish I could tell Vann how kind people have been to me since his passing. It would make him very happy. Even my first husband's family (which I still consider part of my own and who practically adopted Vann) has been so sweet to me with calls and cards. It's amazing and heartwarming. If I can count my wealth in friends, I'm truly well heeled. And you, my dear blogging buddies, are a big part of that wealth. Thank you all for your blog visits, comments, e-mails, cards, gifts, and for the comfort of knowing you're there.

Now I'm going to take my tired, aching body and Sophie downstairs, and we're going to put in some serious couch time.

Yeah for you Susan! The finish is a great one! Just love the colors and hope to make a pink/brown quilt of my own someday!

Applause, applause!!!!!!!!! That is just the cutest quilt and pink, if I remember correctly, is one of your favorite colors. Perhaps this little quilt will hang on a wall in your new office or will live over the arm of the couch or comfy chair to cover you as you read?!!? Well done!

Hope you'll rest your tired self and perhaps nap.

Hugs!

Hey Suze - I love the little quilt top--can't stop looking at all the shades of pink. Get lots of rest. I pray for you every day/night, for relief from the pain and fatigue. Love - Sister J.

The quilt is too cute! At least you have accomplished something! I haven't sewn in days!
I think of you daily. When a loved one passes you really find out your "true" friends. Thank you for visiting my blog and leaving such sweet comments.
I know you miss Vann as I miss Amber. I pray for you daily!
Blessings and Hugs

The quilt top is beautiful and amazing, just like you. And you can tell Vann everything you want him to know. He will always be right there by your side. I love you so very much!

Hi Susan. Oh I love this quilt top! Whether you send it off to be quilted or quilt it yourself, it's a winner. So glad to read about your constant support from all those who love you. Count me in on that support! :)

You did a beautiful job on your quilt top, Susan...I'm not sure but I think I have that pattern. If its not the same, its realy close...I've never done triangles, so am a little hestitant to begin, especially when time is short before Christmas.

Still praying for you, and I'm glad that you have these wonderful blogging friends to love you and support you. I know they would love to come right over and wrap their arms around you, and sit down to talk and listen. Praying for your physical health as well.

God bless you,
Mary

Susan, it is so pretty. I admire the your commitment and determination.

Your Vann would be proud of you, too. I know we all think you are great.

Thanks to Amy for sharing that video link--what a good commentary on grief. I loved the part about us being spirits who come down to earth for a few human years-that says in a nutshell what I have often thought about my son's death.

Susan, you are doing fine. I know you have to have some downtime to process all that has and will happen. It's unfortunate your neighbor is leaving too. Bummer.

Do you have the energy to walk in the mornings? If so, a quick walk around the neighborhood with Sophie might be a good routine to start. It doesn't have to be a long walk but something to open and refresh your mind.

Sending love,
Debra
