My French General fat quarter bundle just arrived. Now when my book gets here, I can get started on my challenge quilt. I found the quilt photo on Flickr, an example of the quilt pattern we're making, also in red and white.
I'm not having a good week so far. My energy level is nonexistent practically. And the stiffness and pain are a big problem this week too. Could be the weather--dark, damp, and chilly. I don't know. But I don't feel like doing anything. And I'm not doing much, except lying on the couch and watching tv or playing on the computer or reading. Haven't been in the sewing room since Saturday. And I won't get there today, I don't think.
I have some important things coming up later in the week, so I hope the fibro backs off for a while. I already missed a friends' mothers' funeral today. Didn't feel like making the drive, and didn't feel like attending a funeral for another pancreatic cancer victim.
I don't feel like this post is even making much sense. So I guess I should just sign off and go back to watching tv. Maybe the sun will shine tomorrow. Let's hope.

I hear you, honey! Hope you have some hot tea, good soup, and crackers (need that salt when you're puny). It's been rainy, dark, and chilly here, too, after a night of rain. I love sitting in the lamplight on days like this.
My shoulders are aching and I have a bit of fever so hope I'm not catching anything. I'll be on the couch soon.
Love the Snowball quilt that you found pictured on Flickr. Wonder what size that quiltmaker cut her large squares?
This morning I finished the center of DS2's flannel quilt. It's 36"x60" with 12" blocks set 3 across and 5 rows down (you feel bad, so need to do the math yourself!). Am auditioning 1st border fabrics and awaiting the arrival of a charming blue flannel tweed I found on-line for the outer border.
Be good to you and stay cozy! Germ-free hugs!

You are making PERFECT sense, and doing exactly what your body is telling you to do! That's a GOOD thing! How do I know? Because I am feeling VERY much like you this week yet NOT being sensible therefore I am grumpy and resentful that I don't FEEL any better. LOL! I need to take a page from my sweet & smart Susan! (I could also use a nice cuddly dose of Sophie about now.) As for your fabric - WOW! Isn't that the most feminine & LOVELY stack? That can't be anything less than incredibly gorgeous once it's made into a quilt! I LOVE YOU - KEEP RESTING!

Let me know if you need help cutting the pieces. I would be more than happy to help you with that part so you can do the sewing more quickly.

Oops! Just hit the wrong button and computer ate my post!
I was saying... it is good you know yourself... when to go and when to stay, when to rest and when not. Weather can affect us physically and/or emotionally. I always knew about the emotional part, but now I'm learning about the physical. It is dark and windy here today. I just gave in to a storm of impatience and now I'm feeling very badly indeed. No excuses.
Build up your strength account for later... stay warm and restful. Read some Psalms to brighten the evening.
Blessings!

You will get to the things that you need to -continue to do what your body tells you- we all need to listen to how we are feeling.
Very pretty set of fat quarters- sometimes the fabric will spur one on to get going on a new project. I am sure that you will get it made up soon enough- in the meantime enjoy patting the fabric:D
Don't forget to be kind to yourself- you have dealt with many difficult things recently-
Be well,
Regards,
Anna

You just have to give in to these kind of days. Your body and soul need nourishment and rest. Take good care of yourself. We all care about you.
Susan, I can hardly wait to see what you do with those fabrics. They are the ones I love. The colors and patterns are gorgeous.
It is rainy and dreary here, too, but we really need the rain. We are so far below our average. Our lakes look very sad. We'll be in big trouble if we reach next spring so far below norm.

Hope you're feeling better today, Susan!
Kelli, thanks for the information on your beautiful quilt!
Oops from me, too - on yesterday's post here, in the parenthetical note about the quilt size it should have read: "you feel bad, so NO need to do the math yourself". Sigh!
Temp got to 101.4*F last night so am down for the count myself. Bother!

I'm so sorry that you're feeling bad Susan! I know fibro is awfully hard to live with and I will certainly be hoping and praying that the sun does indeed shine in your world tomorrow! This afternoon would be even better yet :)

Hope you feel better soon so that you can start cutting into that lovely fabric.

Don't push yourself - your body knows when it needs rest. You do quite a lot, I think, with your quilting and staying active. So a little "mini-vacation-just-because" is okay. Your latest project will be so pretty! Rest and take care...
