Between Laundry Loads

100 Roof The Yellow House now has her new roof on. The roofers completed the work and clean-up all in one day. We love the dimensional shake shingle look of it. We think it contributes to the cottaginess of our Yellow House.

100 Birdy Mug Look what came in the mail this morning: a wonderful mosaic cardinal mug, designed and created for us by Penny of Lavender Hills Studio.

That's the third piece of Penny's work that we now own, including our Yellow House sign and the pie crust table.

100 Play Strong 100 Sophie I trimmed Sophie's "Play Strong" scarf that Oliver and Kelee sent her with tiny yo-yos and a small flower button. I thought maybe it needed more, but I decided we didn't want to make it too busy.

As you can see, the scarf is just a little too big for Sophie--especially since she got her new haircut yesterday. We took her to a new girl who is now working at Dr. Rachel's clinic. Sophie's regular groomer is taking a hiatus to handle some family matters, and Sophie was growing quite shaggy.

Sophie came out with sort of a high-top fade. We call her "Slick" now. Her body and legs are almost shaven, but her face and head still have plenty of hair. Oh well, with hot weather upon us, at least the black dog will be more comfy.

Thanks to Kelee for the scarf and for the opportunity to help make money for homeless beasties. We love doggies and kitties and think they should all have good homes like Sophie has.

Please consider decorating one of these scarves for your four-legged buddy. Kelee and Oliver are aiming for at least 150 scarves, which will raise $2,000 for homeless animals. They're halfway there. Please visit The Katillac Shack to see how to participate in this free, fun, and worthwhile activity. Oh, and did I mention that there are PRIZES???

Back to the laundry now. I didn't tell you I got a new washing machine, did I? Our old one sprung a leak earlier this week so Vann sprung for a new one. I didn't get one of those new front-loading things with all the bells and whistles. I decided I didn't need anything else that I'd have to go to classes to learn to operate. Just a regular white washing machine was fine with me. Top loading. It works fine and had already proved it's worth.

Hello Susan, thanks for your visit today. I always love to hear from you. We quit playing in the park early today so hubby can take a nap. I am thrilled to have some time to visit my blogging friends. I am managing my posts but finding time to visit while on vacation is very hard.

I saw your sweet mug on Penny's blog the other day and loved it. Lucky you to have three of Penny's lovely art work. I have a lovely tray with a rooster on it and just love it in our home.

The doggy scarf is cute and a good cause. we do not have a pet right now. We will be shopping for a sweet poodle in the fall. We had to put our poodle down last Dec. She was almost 16 so she had a wonderful long life. We miss her so much. I think Sophie looks real slick too. She is a real cutie.

I too opted for a white washer and dryer of the standard type. My sister has the new style and she loves it, but I still am very happy with mine.

Until next time...Hugs, Jeanne

I like Sophie's haircut. I always shave Maisy down in warm weather. Gotta keep these little black dogs as cool as we can.

Sophie looks great. Riley got a shave too. He looks pretty funny with his stick legs, but his leg fur gets so matted up it's impossible to comb out, and ticks and sticks and foxtails get embedded in there. You call Sophie Slick, and we call Riley Stick.

Your new roof looks great on your house Susan! I am glad you like your mosaic mug. It is always an honor to make something for you and Vann. Sophhie looks great in her cute scarf.
Hugs,
Penny

Susan, you have so much exciting news. I love the new "topper" for The Yellow House. She looks quite grand.

And, that cardinal mug is awesome - just like Penny. I love the sign she made for our sunroom. She and her work are treasures.

Tell Sophie that she looks beautiful, and that it is great she is supporting such a grand cause.
