May Day Greetings

May Basket The photo on the left is the May Day basket I sent to my swap partner Tammy. The photo below is the basket Tammy sent to me. Just look at all the goodies I received. I love them all, especially the beautiful notepad and pens. And I forgot to even show the copy of Quilt Almanac 2009 that she included. I've already found a couple of projects in it that I want to make.

I haven't heard from everyone in the swap yet. I hope everyone has mailed and received her basket. Please let me know if there are any problems.May Basket 2

Sophie and I filled this basket that I made last week with chocolates and gave it to our sweet friend Ashleigh for May Day.

May crochet heart

Woodpecker Tree Replacement

May Cyprus You'll recall that earlier in the spring, our prized maple tree, The Woodpecker Tree, was blown down in a storm. Our neighbors cleared it away the next day while we were at chemo.

Some of those neighbors (see here) knew that Vann loves cyprus trees, so they gave him one. Yesterday, Paul and Vann planted it in the previous location of the woodpecker tree. It stands about 6 feet tall but will grow much much taller.

As you can see from the photo below, the woodpecker tree has plans of its own. The remaining underground roots are already putting up little sprouts. (Click on photos to enlarge.)May Mable

How delicious those baskets are! Lucky everyone!!

What dear friends you have to give Vann a replacement tree - and for God to plan a replacement maple tree, too!

Hugs!
