Blog Quilt Festival 2009

6a00d8341cbb0053ef00e54f8207628834-500wi Park City Girl is holding a Virtual Quilt Festival this week. This is my entry. It is one of my favorite quilts because I love basket quilts, i love blue-and-yellow color combos, and this is the only one of my quilts that ever appeared on a magazine cover. It was on the cover of Fons and Porter's For the Love of Quilting (now Fons and Porter's Love of Quilting) in the Spring of 2001, I think. I can't read the date in the photo below, and I don't feel like going upstairs and finding a copy of the mag.

Anyway, I was editor of that6a00d8341cbb0053ef00e54f1f08fe8833-500wi
magazine from its debut in 1995 until I retired from Oxmoor House in the summer of 2001. Shortly after my retirement, Fons and Porter purchased the magazine, and they have grown it into, in my opinion, the best quilting magazine being published. Of course, it was a pretty fine magazine when Oxmoor House owned it and I edited it.

Park City Girl has more than 400 entries in her Blog Quilt Festival. You'll find links to all of them on her blog. You'll also be able to enter you own, if you like. Go check it out.

What an incredible quilt. It was certainly deserving of being a cover quilt. Love the blue and yellow.
