OP in PJs? Why not?

Susan C Orange I've been sad all week because I'm not going to my quilting guild's annual retreat this weekend. In September, on sign-up day, I decided that I wouldn't plan to attend. It had to do with thinking i would probably be having a fibro-flare in Feburary--which I am, but that's beside the point. Now that the time is here (retreat starts tomorrow morning), I'm thinking I should have signed up. I haven't missed a guild retreat since the first one I attended in 1996, even though during the last three or four, I spent more time in the dorm in my bed than I spent in the sewing with my friends (because of the fibro stuff). But it's too late now. Spaces were all filled for the retreat months ago.

But God is good. I found another retreat that it's not too late to sign up for, and I can attend all weekend without ever leaving home--without ever getting out of my pajamas if I so choose. I found out about this retreat on Nichole's blog. Thanks, Nicole.

Pat Sloan is holding a virtual retreat starting Friday and running through Sunday night. There will be a project, a blog hop, prizes, and lots of fun. (I suppose we have to supply our own refreshments though.) There's some homework to be done in the form of gathering fabric and supplies, so if you're interested in attending Pat's Virtual OP Challenge Retreat, click on her name in this paragraph or on the yellow blog button at the top of my left sidebar for details. All the fabric shown in this post are the ones I've chosen for the retreat project. You'll understand my reasoning if you read the challenge details.

ohhh how fun! Isn't God good! :O)
How fun to do the treat without leaving your house :O) And I love the orange palette you are working with. I can't wait to see what you make? I never have a shortage or overload for the color orange fabrics as it's one of my fave colors :O)

Is there a place to read the challenge rules before signing up? I have no blog or Facebook page (dud is me!) ,,, and I have almost no orange fabric at all. Seriously!

Since my dear AMIL is having a heart arrhythmia (irregular beat) my days are less predictable as she needs help with things just now. Perhaps all this means I should skip this stay-at-home project. Oh, and my personal projects are to finish my UFOs! Have finished one and have decided on borders for another, so that counts.

Cheers!

Some very lovely fabrics - Susan - A virtual retreat sounds like lots of fun but I can't take on a new project just now -school work needs to come first in the next couple of weeks.
I do have some rusts but not much orange in my collection tend to collect more jewel tones and primary colors or batiks - I love your pinks and greens and collect lots of those..
Hope that your Fibro settles down and allows you to sew and enjoy some fun quilty time.
Regards,
Anna

Oh this sounds so much fun. I just wonder if I could do it. I will think on it. I feel for you and your fibro. - My husband and daugher have rheumatoid arhritis. It is a mean disease. I will pray for you.

Love the pink, orange and lime green together, you can't fail but to enjoy working with those. Missing the retreat is sad, but sometimes sleeping in your own bed is better, especially if you are unwell. :) Wendy

Hi Susan ~ after visiting your blog last night and seeing this Orange Pile challenge, I got excited and decided to scout up enough orange to hopefully participate!! I've posted my fabrics and look forward to the instructions tomorrow...even though I'm away the majority of the day!

What a great idea to have a stay-at-home retreat! Your quilt top is wonderful.

I bet you had fun and skipped the stressing out about leaving Vann alone.
