Altered Playing Card #37: Penteados
Perry at OKperi's Place and my sister Joanne at Sourwood Mountain have both recently reminded me that I never finished my altered play card deck last year. So this morning I decided to get back to them. Those of you who were following this project might remember that this was my Mama's solitaire deck. Mama passed away in 2005.
This is Altered Playing Card #35. I've entitled it "Penteados" from the phrase on the stamp, which I believe is Portuguese for typical hairdoes. But I could be wrong. Look for the remaining 15 altered cards coming soon.
VANN UPDATE
Vann was scheduled for chemotherapy on Monday and Tuesday of this week. On Monday when we saw Dr. L. and Dr. L. saw the results of Vann's bloodwork he gave Vann a chemo-pass this week. Because the red blood cells are still not where he wants them to be, he rescheduled chemo for next Monday and Tuesday. Vann is doing well, except for the anemia, which is making him feel tired and weak. Friends have told us this is par for the course with chemo, which doesn't discriminate between good cells and bad. Dr. L. is hoping that the shot that Vann had last week will remedy that by next week.

Happy today!
Love your altered cards, the creativity, and the connecting to your mother. I took a look at the ones you've already done and the variety is wonderful! What will you do with them when there are 52? Will they go on display in a glass front/glass back frame or stay in a stack? Just curious.
Hope Vann's anemia is fixed by the medicine he got last week. Do you feed him liver, turnip greens, and and the other blood building foods? I have lupus and fibro (I hear you, sister!), so know how unwelcome fatigue is. It's so annoying to be too tired to do what you want to do or feel you need to do.
Serious hugs and high hopes!

I can't figure out how to make her little logo in my side bar. Everytime I have to do that it is like reinventing the wheel.
This is gonna be fun!
