I Can't Believe I Read the Whole Thing!

WWEI think the title should be Book Without End--1,014 pages of murder, sex, greed, plague, death, distruction, disaster, squalor, enslavement, injustice, stupidity, bad teeth, and I don't know what all were the themes of this tome.

I finished it last night--and was very happy to be done. This sequel to Pillars of the Earth, set in 14th century England, is extremely well written and grabs you from the very first page. I couldn't put it down. It's just that too much of a bunch of bad people tends to get on one's nerves.

I do recommend it, though. Especially if you like historical fiction.

Connie over at Cootie Bug is hosting an International Siggy Block Swap. I think I'm going to join. She has seven slots left, so if you're interested, you'd better act fast. It's a simple block, and the idea of receiving 59 blocks from quilters all over the world is just too much for me to pass up. The deadline is April 15, but I'm sure it'll be lots more fun than filing your tax return. And it's a good way to use up some scraps.

Finally for today, here's a message from a bunch of Born Again Americans that you might like. I did.

I've just finished reading the other book Pillars of the Earth and I'm glad I finished it too. I really enjoyed it. I started reading it in the spring and enjoyed it so much then got busy and had to put it down and everytime I picked it up I could continue without missing a beat..*lol*. Around Christmas I took more time reading a bit each evening before going to bed only because I was busy and too tired to read too long. It is a great book and I like the way the author writes.
I'll have to see whether I'll tackle the 2nd one. Its good to know you enjoyed it.
Come by and visit sometime...
and have a lovely evening
Judi
