They're Coming to Take Me Away--Ha Ha!

Layer Cake So many quilters and bloggers are taking the pledge these days to use up their stash supplies and stop buying stuff. So I did the same thing--for the umpteenth time. Goodness knows, my quilting, sewing, and crafting supplies could fill a small warehouse. So last week I swore off fabric/crafting purchases until I whittle down some of the things I have.

Well it didn't take me long to fall off that slow-moving wagon. At Monday's guild meeting, our fabric-pack lady was offering this  for sale: a packette of 40 10" squares of Sandy Gervais's "Pumpkins Gone Wild." Do you think I could resist these luscious fabrics? No way!

But now, I really really really pledge to buy no more until I've used some of what I've got. Honest. I mean it. I do. For real. This is it. No more. I can quit. Anytime I want to. I don't need to buy fabric. It's just that my life is so stressful. Fabric helps me relax. But I'm not addicted. Nope. Not me. I'm just a social fabric buyer.

Ho Ho! Hee Hee! Ha Haaaaa!

Just a minute, fellows. Hold on just a minute. I'll go peacefully, right after I tell my readers this: I'm still taking sign-ups for the Haloween swap through the weekend. To read all about it, go HERE.

Oh boy - can we all relate to this! I've promised myself the same thing this month for the umteenth time - and what have I been doing? Perusing the Baum, Marcus Brothers, Moda, and Andover sites for the latest and newest in reproduction fabrics. It's a sickness - it really and truly is. I just wish all the fabric companies would take Moda's example and provide us with ways to own a little piece of each fabric. That's all we scrap quilters need.

Hello. My name is Patti and I am a fabriholic.

I can't take that pledge because it would just be setting myself up to fail. I work at a quilt store, for heaven's sake. Not buying fabric is clearly impossible for me.

I promised I wouldn't buy anything too and today I bought a guillotine. I really really Need one of those :)

Some people drink, they clutter the gutter and we don't do that. And new fabric smells so nice......

Okay, Susan, I'll let you off the hook for this purchase. The fabric is truly adorable. And yes, I was very tempted at the Guild meeting, too. But I resisted! Aren't you proud of me? I made it two weeks into my own personal no buying policy. So far, so good!

Perhaps we could become partners and make millions...we could form a group called FAA....Fabric Addicts Anonymous.....the membership numbers would be huge!!! Just think how much we would make and then how much fabric we could buy with the profits!!!! LOL CAthy

Oh, Susan. I have this disease about scrapbooking supplies. I vowed that I wasn't going to buy anything new until I used some of what I have. And, I haven't bought anything since January. But ... I still can't see a dent in my stock pile. ;-)

I'm trying to use up what I have too and I have enough for all of us. LOL It's just too much and I've got to use it. Dont worry about falling off the wagon. Just hop back on.

Not fabric supplies but I have a ton of 'future craft projects' that I need to get cracking on before I buy another thing. I tried very hard to uphold this promise to myself and found myself spending $50 yesterday on rubber stamps and other card making supplies.

I'm hopeless!
