Harbinger

Butterfly_18_400px I saw it! The Little Yellow Butterfly! Today as I was driving back home from grocery shopping, there he was, crossing the road--on August 5. You know what that means: Autumn is on its way. I think he's a little early this year. Could that mean an early autumn? I sure hope so.

Today's weather is anything but autumnal. Very hot and humid, as one expects in August in Alabama. But the weather people tell us it will be a little cooler by the end of the week. Hurray!

My friend Beverly at How Sweet the Sound has tagged me to a fun meme. I'm supposed to name five songs that I'm embarrassed to admit I like. I thought and thought, and couldn't think of even one song that I'm embarrassed to say I like. But here are five that I probably should be embarrassed by. What the heck? Click on the links and listen to them and tell me if my face should be red.

Tiny Bubbles by Don Ho: This song "makes me happy, makes me feel fine." And so did Don Ho when he was young and good looking.
Jump by Van Halen featuring David Lee Roth: I know DLR is a scuzz, but when he sings "Jump," I want to. And Eddie VH is so darn cute!
Feelings by Albert Morris: A sure-fire way to get the gong on the 70s version of "American Idol." But I love it.
Goodbye, Earl by the Dixie Chicks:I think I have to tell the truth here. I'm really quite proud of liking this song. Take a listen and see what you think.
Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer by Dr. Elmo, my all-time favorite Christmas song!

So now, I'm supposed to invite seven bloggers to share their most embassing songs. I'm choosing: Andy at Andy's Blog, Molly at Dark Oak Woman, Liz at Mabel's House, Patti at Treasure Barn, Karla at Sugar Bear Designs, Sister at Sourwood Mountain, Sherry at Hunny Bunny and anybody else who would like to play. In fact, if I've tagged you, and you don't care to play, you don't even have to.

Now here are the tag rules:

1. Post the link to the person who tagged you and post the rules on your blog.

2. Share 5 songs you are embarrassed to admit to others that you like and tell why.

3. Tag 7 random people at the end of your post.

What a beautiful butterfly. We are still waiting for our summer. Had one good week but wet and windy today and supposed to be the same tomorrow. Good for the garden .

I hope your eyes weren't playing tricks! An early Autumn would be most welcome here where its 100 on a daily basis. Of course that means that we'd have to close the pool early... oh well(said with a smirk and eyebrows raised).

I've played your meme and tagged a few bloggers. Like you, the songs I listed are ones I "should" be embarassed by since they are kind of awful.

I so remember JUMP...it was my daughter's fav. by David Lee Roth and everytime it came on tv, we had to sit down and watch it. I always thought Van Halen was so cute.
