Remember that post I did a while back about the incredible speed with which Time passes through my life? Well it's just getting worse.
I'm behind with everything. I still have only three blocks (or is it two?) done for my Two-Color Challenge quilt which was due to be finished last week; I'm two or three cards in arrears with my Altered Playing Cards; I have a couple of swaps that are due out the door any day now (at least they're not late--yet); I haven't even started reading my book club selection, which we meet to discuss on Friday afternoon. There are several more, but I won't bore you.
But I've found time to cook, as you can see from the photo above. Yesterday Gertrude and I cooked chicken and dumplings. Last night, we made a peach cobbler with the fresh Georgia peaches my BIL gave us when we were in Camilla over the weekend. Vann deemed it the best he'd ever eaten. It was mighty fine.
Oh, and that reminds me of something else I'm behind with. I've promised several of you recipes. I plan to post recipes for the Hummingbird Cake, the Cinnamon Biscuits, and maybe even this cobbler soon.
Got go now. I'm late making breakfast. Our son, Phillip from Wyoming, is here. I know my guys are hungry.

Susan, I know I feel like I am in the same predicament. I hate being late with things.
I think I am going to start hanging out with you and Gertrude.

Hang in there Susan, you'll get caught up. I have been feeling the same way lately, just too much going on. You always make me hungry with all those goodies you are cooking/baking. That cobbler looks soooo good.

I am always "a day late and a dollar short" so I can completely relate to your "being behind"! :-)

And that is the reason I try, and notice I say try, to not sign up for all these inviting swaps I see posted on blogs. I would love to be in every swap, participate in every BOM and all the other fun games - but they all require so much time. Maybe someday when I retire I will have more time to do these things. So for now, I just enjoy watching all the fun the rest of you are having and joining in a few. Your cobbler looks so yummy, please do post the recipe.
