I continue to be blessed with the knowledge of just how generous creative bloggers are--at least the ones I know.
I happened to mention to Anita of Take Joy that the colors in this bag that she made were "my colors." Do you know what she did? She sent the bag to me. And did I ever "take joy" when the gorgeous thing came in the mail yesteday!
I just love this bag. And I really needed a new one too. There's a big pocket on the outside and lots of pockets inside so I can organize all my stuff that I think I have to carry around--like my wallet (which is huge) and cell phone, a flash light with weak batteries, an emergency dog leash in case I find a dog, a bottle of water, my sunglasses, about 100 Wal-Mart receipts, fabric swatches, a pair of scissor in case I need to cut something, a Swiss Army Knife in case I need to cut something else, a book or two, hand lotion, kleenex, three or four different kinds of chapstick, and a few sale papers and coupons. It would make a wonderful bag for knitting or sewing or crafting supplies. But I want to show it off to everybody, so I'm going to use it as a purse.
Aren't the little felt pockets pretty? And what about those hand-embroidered flowers? And the little bee--can you see him? Anita even sent me the leftover fabrics, some quite large pieces, so I can make something else pretty.
Thank you so much, Anita. You are very talented and generous, and I am very blessed to have you as a friend.

What a wonderful gift, it's beautiful. Thanks for the giggle about the purse, now we know you're always prepared to cut something, and I know I'm not alone in the abundance of receipts. The dog leash is a great idea, you have no idea how many times my old neighbor and I would end up fudging with a key lanyard to wrangle a lose dog. A leash would be a lot easier.

wow! It's beautiful. I agree with you about the generosity of creative bloggers. I'm doing a pay it forward which may be closed any moment. I have received wonderful gifts through swaps and drawings, and like your bag, "just because". You are blessed to have that lovely gift.
