Heeeeeeere's Our Sign

Sign_4Vann just finished hanging the sign that Penny at Lavender Hill Studio made for us to display by our front door. We both love it and think it's right in character with our home.

Vann and I married in 1994. At the time, I had a late-50s, ranch-style home that we both really loved. But when he moved in with all his stuff, we soon knew we needed bigger quarters.

So in 1996, we found The Yellow House, a two-story Cape Cod with full basement. The basement was Vann's onSign_vannly requirement, and I've always wanted a yellow house. So here we've been ever since. As the years wear on and our joints wear out, we sometimes wish The Yellow House didn't have so many stairs. We've talked of relocating to a flatter house; but we love this neighborhood, and we love our house. Besides, all Sophie's friends live here. She'd never go for a move.

Thank you, Penny, for creating such a beautiful piece to welcome visitors to our home.

What a beautiful Welcome sign! It goes well with your Yellow House. Stairs do get to be a problem as you get older, that's for sure. If you just take it slow and easy maybe they won't get to you too much.

Susan, the sign is lovely. A truly nice welcome. About the stairs-think of them as keeping you young! Gooood
exercise:0) Particularly when you go up the stairs and forget what you went up for!! Then you have to go down stairs to remember!

I love your sign, and I love your rabbits. Although I am not officially a collector of rabbits, I am excited to take mine out every year to celebrate Spring and Easter.

Thanks for sharing.

I have a real weakness for those cute little vintage blue birds. I'll have to take part in Show and Tell and show off my collection of them.
