Brief Word from the Sewing Room

Before the end of the year, I vow to finish "Windows," which I started with the intention of entering in my guild's June 2026 quilt show. Maybe it will make it into the 2028 show. The top is all done except for joining the final rows.

About Me

Hi. My name is Susan, and I'm a lover of all things fabric related. When I first started sewing, in my teens, I made clothes. I learned to sew on a beautiful Singer treadle machine. I remember the first garment I made was a dress for the 4-H dress review when I was in Junior High.

In my 20s and 30s, I made almost all my and my children's clothes. I added quiltmaking in my late 20s, and gradually drifted away from garment making. I still make the occasional wearable, but most of my sewing time is spent on quilts.

I also enjoy reading and occasionally pick up the crochet hook or knitting needles. I invite you to visit here often. I'd like to share my interests with you.
