Why is SuSu pulling stuff out of closets, cabinets, and drawers and piling it all over the house?
And why does she get mad every time I take that stuffed tiger out of the bag and try to play with it? She already fussed at me 'cause she says I took the bear's sweater off and lost it, and now she can't sell him at the yard sale because his fur is all chewed and his sweater is gone. Well, maybe I did, and maybe I didn't.
From what I gather by eavesdropping, a lot of people are going to be in my yard tomorrow buying this stuff. I think I heard them say I have to stay in the house because I'll bark at everyone and run them off and then they won't buy anything. What do they expect? Not many guard dogs I know whisper.
I hope this is over soon. I can't take much more of this yard sale foolishness.

Next time mommy has a garage sale, here's what you do...hop on a train and a plane and head up here to Long Island. You can play with my dog Shadow and leave mommy SuSu to her garage sale stuff.
I'm sorry you have to stay inside because of your barkiness. Look out the window...and if you see anyone trying to get something too cheaply...go ahead and bark! We want mommy to make lots of money!

Oh, your doggy is so cute! How'd your yard sale go, Susan? I think preparing for one of those is like cleaning closets. You start out enthusiastically, pulling everything OUT of the closet. By the time stuff is all over the place, you're so tired you just want to toss it all back IN the closet! But if you don't give in to that temptation, you generally feel a real sense of accomplishment once you've finished. I hope yours was a huge success!

Poor Sophie! Margot knows exactly how you feel. We had a yard sale last summer and she was none too happy about not being the center of attention all day!
