Twice-Stitched Ripple

Yarn

I ordered this luscious wool yarn from Jojoland and decided to make a baby blanket in a ripple pattern. I found instructions for a really simple one, using only single crochet stitch. I followed the instructions to the letter and decided, after I was almost finished, that the blanket was too narrow. So I raveled it all out and started over. It's a little wider now, but not much. I'm not going to start over though. Maybe I can just add side borders when I'm finished with the ripple design. Anybody have any ideas here?

Oh, and Daisy is visiting while Lori recuperates from foot-and-gizzard surgery. (It's an inside joke; don't try to understand.)

This is a picture for Lori. All of us hope you're feeling better today. We miss you. (Especially Daisy, who has to put up with all kinds of insults from the black dog.)

Um, if the baby blanket thing just doesn't
turn out right, how 'bout making it a blanket for Soph or Daisy?

Soph- I love you dearly, but your own Mama
told me Daisy was a "shelter" dog. That is
very traumatic!! You can share your Mama
and Vann with Daisy, she doesn't take up
much room. After all, you have "accepted"
your cat "cousin", Timmy. . .(Ps, Soph- always make sure YOU get "high ground", like in the pic. your mama posted of you &
Daisy. Hmmppff!!!)

Mmmm, those yarn colors are scrumptious. I guess I would probably try adding an additional border around it.

I was going to skip over your knitting post (I don't knit) until I saw the picture of Sophie on the back of the chair. That's Riley's favorite spot, too.

That yarn is gorgeous! It's too bad you had to undo all that work, though.
Maybe you don't need to make it wider. You could say it is for using with a car seat! Could you make a little 'buttonhole' towards the bottom for the seatbelt to go through? (It could also work on a stroller.)
The dogs are adorable. And I hope Lori feels better. If she was born with a gizzard, I don't blame her for having it removed (just kidding!)!

Well, Suze, I keep trying to post to your blog, but my posts don't take. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Anyway, I love the yarn colors in your ripple blanket. Also loved your account of the retreat, and the lady singing the solo. Picture was cute!
