Pretty in Pink

Img038

Isn't this the prettiest room? I found this magazine at the drugstore today when I stopped in for some prescription refills. Pink is my favorite color. It's the softest, most comforting, comfortable color to me. If pink had a taste, it would be sweet. I could live in a room like this. I've always wanted to do my bedroom in pinks and roses. But Vann would have kittens if I did such a thing. He thinks pink is fufu, too fancy, tacky. He'd like nothing better than to decorate our room in Realtree camo and hang a moose head over the bed, I suppose. But that's ok. He can no more help liking what he likes (neutral) than I can help liking what I like (lots of colors, especially pink). That's why our bedroom is done in offwhite and a sort of mossy green. A little bit neutral, a little bit color. (Well, I do have some pink-trimmed pillow cases and a small pink striped throw pillow. Does that mean I should let Vann hang a small animal head in our room?)

We're leaving tomorrow for our annual week at Panama City Beach, Fla. The condo is right on the beach. It belongs to a friend of ours who lets us use it every year. We are so blessed to have good friends. And not just to get a free condo for a week, but because we gain strength from our friends. Friendship is one of God's great blessings. We definitely count our friends at the top of our list of treasures.

We're both taking a ton of books because we love to read. I'm taking a sewing project, a jigsaw puzzle, and some crochet. And we'll probably take a stack of movies. You'd think we were staying a year instead of a week. I'll bring most of the stuff home unsewn, unworked, unwatched, uncrocheted, and/or unread--but I have to take it all because I never know what I might want to do. Our friend Stuart also told me how to find really great shells, so I'll be doing some shell-seeking too.

We'll return on the 18th. I will probably be checking in on the blog from time to time. Vann's taking his laptop. Sophie is staying with Paul & Karen, neighbors across the street. We'd love to take her with us, but PC Beach has a ban against dogs on the beach. I don't understand it, but that's the way it is. And Sophie loves the beach so much and can see it from the condo's glass doors. It's just cruel to take her and make her stay off the beach.

Have a good week, everyone.

I love that pink room, too, but I don't know whether I'd like to stay in it for very long. They do say that pink reflection makes you prettier. Just seeing intense colors like that makes me happy. Hope you and Vann have a lovely week in P.C.!

This is funny, cause one time Jeff wanted
to hang some antlers from a deer kill he'd
made- he wanted to hang 'em in JOHN'S room.

I said NO. We are not promoting animal killing. Um, somehow, those antlers got "lost" in the move. Hmm. . .
