At the suggestion of Debra S. on her blog, I took the Myers-Briggs Personality Test. It turns out that I have the same personality type of Mother Teresa (and Debra S.). Boy, is that humbling. I'm the Guardian type, or ISFJ (Introvert, Sensing, Feeling, Judgment). I was mostly F (Feelings). Now I wish I could just find the strength that Mother Teresa had.
As far as I'm concerned, having a guardian personality isn't always a good thing. I tend to want to "fix" everything, to take care of everyone around me, especially family members. I often don't give them the opportunity to work out their own problems before I try to step in and "help." So I think I need the gift of discernment to go along with my guardian tendencies so I'll know when I need to help and when I need to let go.
"Be faithful in small things because it is in them that your strength lies." --Mother Teresa of Calcutta
