Here Comes Summer!

Ger_2
I've always thought of Memorial Day as the start of summer, although the official beginning of summer is almost a month away.

I hope you're holiday weekend is turning out to be safe and fun. We have certainly overdone it with the celebrating--at least foodwise. Saturday, Vann smoked ribs. Gene, Maria, Mike, and Phillip were here to enjoy the feast with us. Gene brought more ribs and even had a freezer full of homemade vanilla ice cream. Yummy!

Last night we went to a neighborhood shrimp boil at Bob and Mary Beth's. The shrimp were some of the best I've ever had. We also had boiled corn, potatoes, and okra and grilled sausages. Also plenty of beer and Milo's sweet tea. Even Sophie ate too much.

Today, Vann and I went to Shelby County to see a friend who is in rehab at a facility there. On the way back, we stopped at Full Moon BBQ and stuffed ourselves again. I think it's nap time now.
