June is here already. Unbelievably, 2023 is almost halfway over. I've been retired for 22 years. I lost Sophie seven years ago and Skipper 14 months ago. Vann has been gone going on 14 years. Jesse moved in with me 11 years ago. Time moves like the winds of a hurricane these days. What happened to that kind of time when we were kids and the month between Thanksgiving and Christmas was two lifetimes; summer months were almost endless; and an afternoon was long enough to build a fort, stage a battle, then take a nap before supper. What has happened to time?
Oh well, I have found enough time in the past week or so to work a little on the cross-stitched piece that I started a couple of years ago (that feels like a couple of months ago). I also have worked some on Rosie's Dollhouse quilt. I'm about halfway finished with the final room block (the nursery). Then I'll still have to do the front door, roof, and background. Then it will be ready to quilt.
Streaming-wise, I watched the Paramount Plus series "Rabbit Hole" (today I guess I should say "Rabbit Rabbit Rabbit Hole") starring Keifer Sutherland, whom I love. The series was good, although I was a little confused during the first couple of episodes and wasn't sure what was going on. Also it might scare you. I sure scared me. It isn't a "scary movie" per se. Just hits a little too close to home (country) for me.
I also watched the Amazon Prime movie "Judy," a story that takes place near the end of Judy Garland's life. I was particularly taken with Renee Zelwegger's portrayal of Garland. Not just her speech or even the singing (which were both amazing), but even her body language, her posture, the way she walked and carried herself. It was a striking acting job.
How will I spend this afternoon? I should shuffle off upstairs and work on the quilt, but the prospect of climbing those stairs seems insurmountable today. Lots of pain and fatigue. So I think I'll read a bit. I have three books started. I do that. Read a few chapters of each one every night. I don't know how I can keep track of which book I'm reading at a given time--but I can.
Happy June, everyone.

Love your rabbit table runner!
Yep, time is flying by here, too, some days moving more slowly but the, away they go! When my Dad was my age (72), he said time went by at the speed of a rocket.
I've been too tired to sew and even cutting strips or squares took days. Bother and bummer! Well done on your dollhouse progress!
Hugs!

I can remember reading about some of those events in your life. Your husband’s
Passing, your grandson moving in with you. I think we (I am anyway) living in a time warp. I’ve never seen time go by so fast. I check your book list occasionally and enjoy seeing what you’re reading. I just finished Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine for our book club and it was really good. You might like it. Today after church I sat outdoors for a while and it zapped me for the day. I’ll have to try to get up earlier to beat the heat. It already is too much - the humidity! Have a great week!
