Time's A-Wastin'
Examples of the mantel quilt that's coming next
If it's not one thing.... Well, you know the rest. My feet have been my problem in the last couple of weeks. Really bad foot pain. I still haven't managed to get the appointment with the neurologist. We continue to miss each other's calls.
On Tuesday, Dr. Kirland gave me some Lidocaine cream for my feet, and I'm finding it helps more than the Gabapentin. But up until now, it hasn't done much to get me up and working on anything except those things that absolutely have to be done. I think today, however, I might make it to the sewing room.
For quite a while now, I've been looking for a design to make a wallhanging for over the mantel. I think I've finally found it. I'm planning on a version on the above design in mostly reds, maybe a skosh of pink. The design is by Material Girlfriends. If you're interested in making your own version (it's wonky log cabin technique, which looks really fun) you can find it on their Etsy site. The pattern is called "Round Rosie Runner," $10 for a PDF copy.
So let me see if I can follow through on my determination to get a little work done today. I'm determined to finish "Rosie's Dollhouse" before I start on the mantel quilt.

So sorry to hear about your foot pain. AMIL had that and her doctor told her to e wear shoes with good supports and to stop going barefoot (which she did whenever not going outside). Am glad the Lidocaine cream is helping you.
I LOVE the pattern you plan to adapt to go over your mantel. It is so wonderfully cheerful and I can see it staying up all year long or swapping with 3 seasonal quilts and one Christmas quilt. Or not!
Hope you continue to have fun as you finish the Dollhouse quilt.
We;ve had days of hazy, smoky air here (not as bad as elsewhere). Who would have thought this was possible?
Hugs!

Strange you should write about foot pain… have noticed a “rash” on the tops of the toes on one foot only, but it’s at the end of the leg that has been through the mill. Sciatica, shingles, nerve damage from a fall…. So I guess my next “step” will be to the doctor’s office about yet one more thing. It doesn’t itch, though.
And I love your mantel pattern.
