Yesterday, Tornados; Today, Snow Flurries

GSNQOTISX5F2RKFK4MX4XN2Q2Y-1Some of the destruction from tornados that hit Selma, Alabama and other communities in the state.

What a week we've had in our country. We lost classic rock guitarist Jeff Beck and daughter of Elvis, Lisa Marie Presley. And this morning I learned that a local celebrity, Country Boy Eddie Burns, has passed. As host of a local early morning TV show out of Birmingham, he was part of my life for as far back as I can recall. He also gave some big-time celebs air time before they were big-time celebs. Both Dolly Parton and Tammy Wynette were guests on the Country Boy Eddie Show way back in the day.

All air traffic was grounded because of some rebellious Hal9000-type computer. I just read that First Lady Jill Biden has had cancerous lesions removed. And closer to home, monster tornados attacked Alabama. Much destruction; some deaths. And this morning, snow flurries. I'm ready for this week to be over. No tornadoes here, although we were included in the tornados watch for part of the day. Just rain and thunder.

Even closer to home, the effects of covid are hanging on here. Congestion and extreme fatigue and weakness continue for me. And Jesse still hasn't regained his senses of taste and smell. I've read up on all this and found out it can take months for full recovery. But Jesse has a friend who lost his smell and taste with covid two years ago and still have not got them back.

And today is Friday the 13th. What can we expect this date to bring?

Sorry for the tornado damage and losses. I, too have been rocked by the deaths of so many people I've known of for most of my life.

What a bother about the lingering effects of covid and hope they become a thing of the past soon.

Enjoy your lovely home and beautiful quilts as you sit and read!

Hugs!

There were definitely lots of sad things in the news. Hopefully there are brighter days ahead and you both recover from your illness quickly.
