The Day of the Mom

Granny_missouri_ella_isbell_and_george_walker_a_large-Happy Mother's Day Granny Ella

We had a nice mother's day-  Daughter Andy came over with apple pie and ice cream= I made spaghetti with meat sauce and garlic bread- Andy and Jesse and I chowed down- Then Andy and I watched a movie-  It was an excellent day

Of course we missed all the moms and grandmoms who are no longer with us  Above is a photo of my great grandmother (my dad's granny) Her name was Missouri Ella Isbell-  She was born in 1871 in Shelby County Alabama and died in 1961 also in Shelby County- I don't believe she ever left the state-

I hope everyone of you out there also had a fine day and that you had strong and influential women in your family as I did-

We had a lovely day yesterday and thought fondly of the wonderful and dearly departed women in our lives, some of whom we never knew as they departed before we arrived.
DH's maternal grandmother was named Hiawatha Samantha and she was a force to be reckoned with for DH's first 57 years of life and 36 years of my life.

Hugs!

Nice day for you...Love the pic of your great grandmother. I had a couple of cold hot dogs, talked with my Aunt Christy on the phone and cleaned up the carpet from Etna's deposits! Just another day, really...
