The Truant Blogger is Back
My nephew Jed reminded me that I've ignored my blog for quite a while. I just haven't felt real good. So much pain and fatigue. I've mostly just been doing what has to be done and that's all. Except reading. I have read a lot, and I need to update my reading list in the left sidebar. I have several books to add.
This isn't me, but this is how my procedure was done.
I had my most recent pain block procedure for my back this morning. Jesse went with me to be my driver. We had to be at the Medical Center at 6:15 a.m. Thank goodness it's only a short drive from my house, maybe 15 miles. But neither one of us was able to sleep last night, knowing we had to be up and about so early. We've been napping since we got back home.
The procedure went well. It was a steroid epidural injection under anesthesia. Also an injection of numbing medicine (lidocaine or something similar) for immediate relief. I'm told the steroid can take up to two weeks for longer lasting relief. I'm to check in with the doctor after that amount of time has passed to let him know if it works. If not, I'm not sure what's next.
My quilters guild meet this past Monday, in person for the first time in 14 months. I was prepared. I had put the binding on my donation cuddle quilt and sewn my president's block to give to our outgoing president. But when the time came, I just didn't feel like making the long drive (about 25 miles). I hear the meeting went very well. I hope I can be in attendance next month.
OK, back to my napping.

So glad to hear that your first block seems to have done you so much good!!!! Yes, I read the next day's blog post before reading this one.
Who on earth wants to be up at 6a after they retire?
Hugs!
