What’s for Lunch?

DSC_0020

About the only vegetables that Jesse will eat are green beans, corn, and cabbage. So today I cooked skillet of cabbage. The way I make it is easy, and so good. Fry a few strips of cut-up bacon (don’t drain), than add chopped cabbage to pan. Saute till tender. You can also add a little water or chicken stock during cooking. If so, cook it down till all liquid is gone.

I also made meat loaf and mac and cheese. Jesse is leaving for a week or so of hiking on Wednesday, and I want to get him good and fed before he has to spend all that time eating ramen noodles and pop tarts.

I spent a little time in the sewing room this morning and got some more of the squares for my Crown of Thorns quilt cut out. Still have lots to go though.

All the supplies have come in for The Dress quilt. I want to get all the cutting done for Crown of Thorns before I start on The Dress. Hoping that will be later this week or early next.

Sounds good to me!

DH was given an interesting cookbook for Christmas called Salt Dat Acid Heat by Samin Nosrat and it's alway a 4 part series on Netflix if you're interested.

Hope you have some fun plans lined up for the time Jesse is out of town.

Hugs!

Bill makes a dish using Conecuh sausage, cabbage, onion & potatoes. He wraps each serving in foil & bakes it in the oven at 350 for 1 hour. Delicious!!!!
