Made It to Bee Just Before Monday Swooped By

I cannot believe how fast time is flying these days. I can still remember as a child how it seems that summer was almost never-ending-- to the point that we were all excited when school started. And the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas was a long time.  A week felt like a week. A year felt like an eternity. But now? Shoot! June had barely started when all of a sudden it’s August. I’ve read books about this phenomenon, how time speeds up as we age. But I still don’t understand. Oh well.

I made it to the August meeting of my quilting bee on Monday. I didn’t take any photos, but my friend Cyndi did, and I have copies. So here we go.

Bee dog
That’s me, showing and telling about “The Bow Wow Bunch.” Everyone loved it. My friend Doris spotted Sophie right away. She’s the black dog in the top row sporting the red collar.

Bee witch
Here I am again, showing “Witch Hunt: No Collusion.”

Bee Rita (1)
Rita show us her sweet children’s quilt, featuring some adorable squares.

BeeRItaPump
This is Rita with her in-progress pumpkin wallhanging.

NancyTumb
Here’s Nancy with her charming tumbler quilt. You can find the free pattern for this one at Accuquilt.com.

Martha
Martha turns out another beautiful cuddle quilt.

Maryhexies
Mary showed us her little flower bouquet quiltlet, made with hexies. I fell in love with this one and plan to make a similar piece using some of the English paper piecing hexies that I made a few years ago. Mary used prequilted fabric for her background. On the way home from bee, I stopped by JoAnn’s Fabrics and picked up a couple of prequilted pieces, a pink and a tan print.

Marydress
Mary also showed us some little dresses she made for her granddaughter. This is one of them.

BeeUs
For the first time in quite a while, we had 100% attendance. Everyone was there. So we took the opportunity to shoot a picture to send our dear friend and former member Mary Grace, who moved to Colorado to be near her children.

You are so lucky to have a group of women that get together and talk about/show their quilts!
All of them are works of art! I love the hexie wall hanging and how the stems hang beyond the end!
Love that group picture! When did your hair get so long?
Hugs 💖

Love the quilts and the smiling faces in the group photo!!! Mary Grace will be thrilled to get this picture.

When DID your hair get so long?

My dad used to say that by the time he was 70, time whizzed by without even a blink.

Hugs!
