Working on the Christmas Tree

XTree1

I got a bunch of work done today, sewing the pieces together for the Christmas Tree quilt. My cleaning lady Anna was here, after being away for several weeks because of a family crisis. The house was really in need of a good cleaning, and she gave us one. And while she cleaned, Skipper and Taco and I chilled in the sewing room. Well, Skipper and Taco chilled; I worked. Bella hid out in one of her secret hideout places.

So Anna is gone now, and the furbies and I have exited the sewing room in favor of the living room couch. Jesse is home from work early but says he doesn’t want supper because he had a big lunch. I have a chicken pot pie in the oven for me, courtesy of Mrs Callender, (for me since I not only didn’t have a big lunch, i didn’t have any lunch at all), and that’s all the cooking I plan to do this evening.

I have been watching the “Stranger Things” series on Netflix, so I think I’ll get back to that for a while. I started with Season One, although I saw it when it was new. I’m now two or three episodes into Season Two. I love that series. It’s like “The Gonnies” meets “Fringe.” There’s a super cast of kid actors, and David Harbour and Winona Ryder are fantastic as the main grownups. Those of you who like strange stuff will no doubt love “Stranger Things.” And if you’re one of those who hates all movies and books that even so much as hints at “scary,” you might want to close your eyes when the Upside Down monster appears. He’s pretty darn scary.

The aroma of pot pie is wafting by my nose, so I figure I’m about to hear the oven timer go ding ding ding. Everyone have a fine Hump Evening. (Can you believe we’ve already entered the second week of November?)

I should tell you that I got hooked on making this Christmas tree quilt from reading your blog. The minute I saw your post I had to find and order the pattern and I dropped all else to work on it. So maybe it's a karma thing? LOL. Your quilt is looking good! I agree with you though, there were a lot of squares to cut out.
