High Atop Red Mountain

IMG_0917

A small group of friends, including me, met at The Club in Birmingham yesterday for lunch and to discuss the wonderful book Carrying Albert Home by Homer Hickam. I loved this book and can highly recommend it. (See the book reviews in left sidebar for more about this book.)

The Club is located on Red Mountain where the tv stations are also located. I remember that one of the channels used to advertise themselves as being “high atop Red Mountain.” The view was gorgeous, even after the rainstorm that occurred while we were inside.

The lunch was most tasty. While the other ladies had one form of salad or another, I had crab cakes. Yum Yum!!!

This morning, Andy came by bearing oodles of flowers for Mother’s Day.
My front porch is now festive with flowers.

One more thing I wanted to show is this beautiful floral tablecloth that I procured at the thrift store the last time Ramey and I went, about a week ago.

Lovely - Red Mt., friends, crab caked, Andy's thoughtful array of flowers, and that perfect-for-you tablecloth!

Happy Mothers' Day!
