Not long after Vann passed away, a dear internet quilting friend sent me a comfort package filled with charm packs, layer cakes, and jelly rolls. About that same time, or maybe a while later (I don't remember the exact time frame) I got Schnibble fever. Several of my internet quilting friends were making Schnibbles, and I wanted in on the fun .
By chance I found a little Schnibble pattern, Cindy Lou Who, at the thrift store for 75 cents, bought it, brought it home, and put it with the comfort package goodies. Then on a trip to a favorite quilt shop, which is now out of business, I bought one of Carrie Nelson's books, Schnibbles Times Two, brought it home, and placed it with the comfort goodies. And that, dear friends, is where everything has stayed until this week. I guess I just had to wait until the right inspiration came along, and it did.
For some reason, I decided I wanted to make the Cindy Lou Who quilt for a wall hanging. It's just 36"x 36", so I know it will fit somewhere on my walls. I have all the nine patch blocks made and everything else cut out. I now have to make my snowball blocks and half snowballs and put everything together, and Cindy Lou will be ready to quilt.

Schnibble progress thus far. I believe the snowball corners will give this little piece a lot more visual interest. At lease, I hope so. Right now, it just looks a little, well, boring. Actually, now that I'm seeing it on screen, I think I have color placement wrong on four of the blocks. Oh well, back to the sewing machine.
I also discovered this week that I will not be adding a border to my Talking Turkey quilt. As is, it will just barely fit the wall space I have planned for it. So it's officially ready for quilting.

Love Carrie Nelson's patterns, they are so easy to work with.
Sometimes life is crazy and hectic, but it makes me appreciate the less stressful times. I hope 2017 brings you lots of laughter and joy.
