Jesse needs a new quilt for his bed. He currently is using a big heavy denim comforter that isn’t very attractive. Now I know guys aren’t particularly hung up on attractive comforters, but I feel my boy needs a better looking cover on his bed. So I’m in the planning stages of making him one. I think he was about 11 or 12 the last time I made him a quilt. It was made for a twin-size bed (he now sleeps in a queen size) with a very juvenile theme. So it’s time to make him a new one.
This is the pattern I’m going to use for Jesse’s quilt. The pattern is called Morning Star. Here’s a link to instructions.

These are the fabrics I’ve ordered to make Jesse’s quilt, Blue Barn by Moda. I love the autumn look of the quilt in the above photo. But I’ve already made so many autumn themed quilts in the past few months, I wanted to do something different. Anyway, the blues and creams seam to fit Jesse’s personality more.
I can’t wait till the fabric gets here so I can get started. I think it’s going to be a lovely quilt--but not so lovely as to be girly.

Thanks to you who gave suggestions about the Schnibble star quilt. I’m taking all your suggestions under consideration, as well as a couple of ideas of my own. I’ll let you know when I decide how to fix the quilt.

I have made Morning Star and love it. You will enjoy how easily it comes together. Also it is a great pattern for showing off pretty fabrics.

Oh but the I Spy quilt is just stunning, so vibrant and lively ! The Morning Star's design is gorgeous, though, and much more fitting for a young adult.
