Man! Don't I have some handsome cousins?? This is just three of them. Yep, Santa's my cousin too. These three gentlemen come from my paternal grandmother's side of the family. They aren't brothers, they're cousins, but they each certainly bear the family resemblance.
My grandmother's name was Susan Alvetti Isbell, becoming Susan Alvetti Ramey after she married my grandfather, Reed Ramey. She was known to family and friends as Vetti, but I just called her Maw Maw. I was named after her. I remember her well. She used to help me with my homework when I was in the first grade. I was not quite seven when she passed away. She was the first person I knew who died.
I have started taking down and putting away the Christmas decorations. I put out only a smidgen of them this year and decorated my small tabletop tree instead of the large one. But still, it is taking a while to get everything put away. I have everything done except the tree, and I'll take it down tomorrow.
Happy Fifth Day of Christmas, everyone. Did anybody's true love give her five golden rings today--along with four calling birds, three French hens, two turtle doves, and a partridge in a pear tree?

I am ready to pack it away too! I want silence, cleared spaces and plain food. Happy New Year Susan!
