How Could I Resist?

Fall1

It has been a long since I've bought a quilting magazine. It seems I find too many projects online that I want to make without going to the quilt publications.

But the other day I happened to stroll by the magazine rack in WalMart and saw the new issue of Quilter's World. The quilt on the cover grabbed my attention. Being a lover of all things Autumn, I already have several autumn quilts. But I love this block, it looks easy to make, and I have all those beautiful autumn prints that my friend Nancy gave me to make the Halloween Tree wall hanging. Plus I have some autumn prints in my stash. Far to much fabric to make just one small wall hanging.

Fall2

So I'm going to make this quilt. To start, however, I'm just going to make one block. Just to make sure it's as fun and easy as it looks. Then I promise myself and the quilting muses that I'm going to set it aside and finish the Heart Quilt and the Farm Girl Sampler before I go back to it.

Fall3

I also like these little baskets, and if I can find time I might make some to give Christmas goodies in. In fact, this magazine has lots of great projects.

Fall5

Lots of work planned for the rest of the year, so I better get at it. Happy Friday, everyone.

Darling quilt Susan! I've become addicted to ordering fabric and patterns online (especially Missouri Quilting Company with their daily sales and YouTube videos of different patterns. So many quilting magazines have closed down, so good for you buying Quilters World today!! I should do that too.

I like that quilt, too, Susan. The colors are gorgeous and your block turned out great. I hate wasting fabric, too, but when I make those half square triangles, I will either go ahead right then and stitch another line so that when they are cut apart I have the square I needed plus another one a bit smaller that can be used for whatever. I've even gone ahead a cut the excess corner off but kept the leftovers intact and at a later day did some mindless sewing to create half square triangle blocks.
