I finally got into the sewing room today to do some Farm GIrl Sampler work. I finished Block #17, shown above.
The first part of the week was taken up with getting our upstairs air conditioning system repaired. I have been having to get its Freon boosted every year for the past several years. I was told it had a slow leak. Well that leak speeded up. This year when I had it boosted, the boost lasted only a couple of weeks. The upstairs, where Jesse's bedroom is and where he spends most of his time at home, was not conducive to habitation, much less sleeping.
Jesse has a friend in the air conditioning business, and he talked me into letting him call his friend. I was more than a little hesitant (I've been using the same local company for many years), but finally I gave it.
The fellow did a great job, I think. He repaired the old air conditioner (which is original to the house), and if it continues to cool as it is doing now, I won't have to buy a new one for a while yet. I already had to replace the downstairs system a year or two after Vann passed. A very expensive proposition.
But for now, everyone is cool and fairly calm. So let's see if I can get one more block created before time to make supper.
