Week Four Farm Girl Block

Pig2

So I decided to sew the piggy block instead of the cow this time. It made me think of my mama. She loved pigs and had a whole collection of ceramic ones. Cait has most of them now.

Four blocks are all it has taken to teach me that I don't want to make another quilt of six-inch blocks. They are extremely tedious, especially now that my hands and arms shake like a 9 on the Richter Scale. I've been told that it's just another fibro symptom, but I'm beginning to believe that fibro has become a catch-all term for "I'm clueless."

I changed my health insurance and had to choose a new doctor. And although I'll miss my old doctor (who has been my doctor for at least 25 or 30 years, and he's funny and outgoing and very sympathetic) I won't miss the 70-mile round-trip I have to make to see him him since he moved away from Leeds. And I'm looking forward to visiting the new doc to see if maybe he has a better plan to get me feeling a little better.

BOM
This is the guild block of the month for February that I whipped up after I made the pig block.

Cheers for your This Little Piggy block and am wondering if you'll add a curly-cue tail. Will you?

Love your guild block, too. Is this for a block drawing so someone who made a block will win all that were made? If so, hope you win!

I'm sorry to hear that your fibro symptoms have caused this unwelcome shaking in your arms. Bother and bummer. I hope your new doctor will have new ideas, new treatments, and a new medicine or combination of medicines that will stop the pain and the shaking and will restore your spoon supply to normal. Might as well wish big, doncha know?! :)

Hugs!

I agree about the difficulty of making 6 inch blocks. I am finally sewing together all the blocks of the Moda Modern Blocks. The 6 inch blocks were the hardest to sew. Something about all the tiny seams and getting them to lay flat when one presses them...Seams just need more room it seems to me. Sorry about all the homonyms. You might really like a new doctor. I, too, had to change doctors because of new insurance. I really like the new doctors I have seen. It is hard discussing all the aches and pains to someone new, but my younger docs seem to really know their stuff.

I think perhaps the 70 mile round trip was causing you lots more pain, too.
