Not Quite a Blizzard

Snow1
My handcrafted good-luck bell that Cait and Kathryn sent me from Woodstock, NY, where they spent most of last winter.

When the weather forecasters commenced pronouncing the "S" word for North Alabama, we all got a little excited, especially the grocery store managers. It didn't take long for the bread, milk, and toilet paper shelves to become bare. So this morning, everyone has a hoarder's supply of these products, and no snow to be seen. Oh it did snow, I saw it. Yesterday afternoon, the white stuff started falling and continued off and on until at least dark. Some even stuck to roofs and trees. But this morning, what little fell has melted away.

But it's COLD! And the wind is blowing like a blizzard. Scared heck out of Taco. I wish I had filmed him trying to do battle with the invisible force outside that he was struggling to avoid. Finally he gave up and came back inside. The neighbor had raised his garage door anyway, a signal to Taco that the "Big Dogs" would be appearing on the other side of his fence shortly. That Taco.

I really need to go to the grocery store myself, having not heeded the Snow Warning and stocked up before the flurries. But it's so darn cold out there, I do believe we'll have to do with whatever we can scrounge up for now.

Bundle up and stay warm, friends--especially those of you who were in the path of the real blizzard.

And for those of you in or near Long Island, N.Y., please be especially vigilant. Me, I'd rather have snow.

Love your new handcrafted bell and the love it holds!

Holy Lizzards, Batman! Somebody in New York state didn't use spell-check!

So far, so good here but it's still snowing hard as well as being windy and causing drifts today. All of the footprints I made yesterday have completely been filled-in and disappeared. We surmise we've had about 14" of snow and last night got 4" of sleet. It's amazing!

We did heed the snow warnings so our pantry is full and I did a lot of cooking for DS2 so he has warm, nutritious food aplenty to tide him over. He as declined to come here for the duration.

Stay cozy!

Hugs!

We only got about 15" here on the Jersey shore, but it has drifted up to 3' in some areas, which is entertaining. Thank you, God, for the gift of snow blowers.

Today... blue skies, and a beautiful day. Love winter!!!
