Final Doggie

Dog

I got started on the last dog for my "Knick Knack Patty Wack" quilt. I thought I would finish it today. But then  I went out in the backyard with the animals and decided, while I was out there, I would trim some limbs (my backyard looks like a jungle). So now I'm so tired I can hardly type. Guess the block will have to wait till tomorrow. Or later today maybe.

Of course the blocks aren't finished with the piecing of the dogs. They still have to have their muzzles, eyes, noses, and bones added, the blanket stitching done, and then surrounded by the doghouse pieces. Maybe I'll have it all done by the next quilt show in 2017. I hope.

I read the title and thought something happened to your dogs! I love your dog quilts. They have so much personality.
Give your doggies a hug from me for National Dog Day!

Good for you! Yes, sometimes spoons must be used for the more mundane tasks of hacking thru the undergrowth - literally.

When the spoon drawer is restocked, that charming dog block will be ready for you (unless a cat has moved some of the block parts). DH installed a screen door on my sewing room so no 4 legged family members can join me in my tiny and very full sewing room.

You do such lovely applique and embroidery that I'm sure you'll soon have these dogs properly adorned and ready for their close-ups! Remember, "a bit of a stitch" daily gets even hand stitched whole cloth quilts finished.

I'm about to sew the outer borders on my Santa quilt!!

Hugs!
