Twin Terrors

Oh boy, oh boy! The old Pain Fairy is giving Fibromonster a run for his money today. I think they're competing for the title of who can kill me first.

I am scheduled to host my quilt bee meeting in November. So it being August already and me being slow as a snail these days, I decided yesterday to get a head start on sprucing up the house. I know, I know--with a young man and four Furbies sharing my abode with me, there's no way sprucing is going to last till November. But it seemed like a good idea at the time.

It wasn't.

I really didn't do any heavy chores, not even vacuuming. I mostly worked on table tops and areas that had got all shabby looking since I had last done a good sprucing. And I changed out the wall quilt in the foyer. I still had the bunny quilt up. Now I have the Sunflower quilt, which I named "September," hanging.

Anyway, I must have done more than my body approved of, because, just for spite I'm sure, she has Pain Fairy and Fibromonster visiting--and they are partying down. I really need to do some grocery shopping, but if the pain pills don't kick in and do the job for which they were intended, there will be no shopping of any kind. I got halfway ready for church before I gave up on that.

But I can feel Autumn. There's always a day in mid- to late summer when something about the air or light or tilt of the earth changes, and I can feel Autumn just over the horizon. The Little Yellow Butterfly should be showing up any day now. And am I ever ready! Now if we could just have some rain.

All right, you two Twin Terrors. I've told you to cool it. Don't make me take a Vicodin.

Love your September quilt and the marvelous Singer sewing machine you have in front of it! I have my grandmother's Singer that is just like yours but cannot for the life of me find a place for it in this small house. I'll have to have another go at thinking about that.

Hope someone else can take your grocery list and shop for you. I know what fatigue is like. Earlier this week after I had showered and washed my hair all I wanted to do was to crawl back in bed. I didn't even have those awful twin terrors to deal with either. Bless your heart and other parts - I wish those annoying creatures could be banished forever without having to take Vicodin.

Wishing you well, along with some rain for your area.

Hugs!
