The Sad Backyard

I have not been able to work in the yard any this year, except the adventure of planting the clematis. (I still have spots on my feet and legs from the fire ants.) Steve keeps my grass cut, the bushes trimmed, and a few of the weeds weeded. I also got him to uproot my old, tired, half-dead azalea bushes at the side of the house and plant some more red knockout roses. Still, things look a little sad out there. But what can grow and bloom without much attention is doing so.

And the terrier continues his yard work.

You have lots of flowers and plants that are flourishing so fret not.

Our yard is on autopilot, too, as it's been too hot to work out there. With lupus I have to hide from the sun under clothes head to toe, and I feel the heat horribly. The weeds are winning as a result, but thems the breaks. Sigh! Oh, and we need rain badly as we're behind on our usual rainfall. We're having to water the crepe myrtles, lilacs, hydrangeas, and roses but the trees need it, too. Hope Arthur flings lots of gentle rain this way as it passes while going up the coast.

Go, Skipper, go!

Hugs!
