Longest Day

Happy Summer Solstice! Although I am not a summer person (I detest the heat and humidity), this is one of my favorite days of the year. It means we've reached the point closest to the sun and we start the trip back toward cooler weather. The days will begin to shorten, and although there's plenty of hot weather ahead, each day brings us closer to October.

Yes! I love this day in the cycle of the seasons, too. It's time for summer wall quilts, summer tablecloths, summer place mats, and even summer pictures in a few picture frames. Can you tell that I also seasonal decorating?

We'll get thru the heat and humidity because we're Southern women but we don't have to like it!

Hugs!

Oddly enough, for a night owl, this is one of my favorite days of the year, particularly when it falls on a weekend. More daylight to get things done than any other day of the year.

I guess it is a glass half full or glass half empty kind of thing. It is a depressing day to me because now the days are going to get shorter.
