The Ides of Sophie

Sophie got her new springtime do this week. But, as you can see from the look on her face, she isn't greatly pleased. She hates going to the groomer; and no matter which different route I take to try to fool her, she knows where she's going shortly after we drive out of the neighborhood, and she cries all the way there. Sharon said Sophie gave her "a hard time" this time. I'm not sure what that means and didn't get a chance to ask because Sharon talks constantly. She wears a Bluetooth thingy in her ear, and she's usually talking on her phone and to me at the same time. Sometime, when I'm trying to converse with the lady, the expression on my face is just like the one Sophie is wearing.

Isn't that just about the rudest thing!!!! My (former) hairdresser did the same thing. The faster she talked, the more she cut. I was nearly bald when I left that LAST time. But please tell Sophie her new "do" is precious and she looks so pretty. You might want to check online. There are several things you can use to help calm Sophie before taking her to the groomer. There are calming collars, sprays and pills to help her stay calm. I get a product called Calm-Ease for my cats. It's a gel I rub on their paw and it helps keep them calm in stressful situations. They love the taste of it. I use it before corralling them into their crate and also when a storm is coming. It really helps. Have a great day.

Awwwwww! I can identify with Sophie! When I was small and had to be taken to the doctor's office, I also knew where I was headed, no matter what route my mother took - and I wailed all the way there. Please tell Sophie that I think her summer "do" is charming as is she.

Do you take Sophie on rides in the car when you're not headed for the vet or the groomer? Perhaps if she takes more fun rides, she'll be less upset while in the car. I've never heard of the product that Sandy suggested, so that might be a good place to start.

Hope you can find a new groomer who isn't rudely talking on the phone when you are there. Where are her good manners?

Wishing you a good week ahead in every way!

Hugs!

Susan - she looks like she's been caught being bad - too funny. My Cocker Spaniel went wild a year ago or so ago and the groomer thought it was the commercial dryer. She dries him by hand ever since. He seems particularly bothered by louder noise as he ages. She still looks really pretty for her troubles.

Awe she looks determined to let you know she is not a happy camper! But I think she looks great! Give her a treat for me, please
And I get another groomer who doesn't chat on the phone non stop!
