Guild Challenge 2014

We have a fun new guild challenge going on this year in which each person, without looking, draws three Crayola crayons from a box and uses those for her colorway to make a quilt--and all fabrics have to come from your stash or a friend's stash. We can't buy any new fabrics for the quilt. I drew Sky Blue, Brick Red, and something Crayola calls Lavender that looks Pink to me. I love the crayons I drew.

Challenge

We can add black and neutral to these three colors, but that's it. The quilts are due to be finished to show and be judged at our June meeting. I have come up with a design and pulled a few fabrics from my stash. Most of the fabrics are quite old; but, as they say, what goes around comes around. They don't really feel outdated to me.

I'm not going to show my quilt design yet. I don't want guild members to see it until the June meeting.

I have six rows of my Granny Square quilt joined and have six rows to go. I'm still hand piecing it,

Happy Valentines Day to you all.

What a great challenge and what a wonderful group of colors you happened to pick from the Crayon box! These will work together to make a quilt that will go nearly anywhere in your charming home! How great is that?

Do the challenge quilts have to be a certain finished size or contain a specific number of blocks?

Hope you and your guild members have lots of fun making your individually colored quilts. The June meeting is sure to be very interesting! I can hardly wait to see the show and tell photos.

Hugs!

Oh My! I have 3 of those fabrics in my stash, too!

Our guild did a crayon challenge but we only had to pick one crayon. Three sounds hard, but you chose some pretty ones. Hope you have fun with it.

Our guild has had a challenge like that except we used paint chips. This year's challenge is to make a project using all solids. I have very few solids in my stash.
