Nancys Galore!

NancysJust look what my good friend Pesky Patti sent me! Twenty-nine vintage Nancy Drew mysteries, one with the original cover still in place. They're really old, dating back to the 30s, 40s, and 50s.

Thanks so much, P.P. I have gone through them several times, read a bit from some of them. They brought back great memories of my girlhood. They'll now go on my bookshelf where the rest of my collection rests.

Patti is one of my loyal blog followers. She has been with me almost from the beginning, I believe. Thank you again, P.P., for your blog visits, for this great collection of Nancys, and most of all for your friendship.

Speaking of the girl sleuth, my Nancy Drew quilt is still at Lena's waiting to be quilted. Lena stays so busy all the time, so I told her there was no rush on the quilt. Anytime I do have a rush, she gets it out post haste. If you ever need a good and dependable long-armer in the Birmingham area, give Lena a call at New Traditions. I've been using her services for man years. She's the best.

I gave my Nancy Drew paperbacks (never had hardbacks!) to my cousin who has since gifted them to her daughter who is now 9 and she loves them too. I am quite jealous - what a lovely present!

Oh, a delightful surprise is the best boost for your heart and spirits, isn't it?! How very kind of P.P. to send these to you at just the right time. Yes, color me green with envy, too, as my 5 childhood books sit on a shelf with 4 Vicki Barr (stewardess) books from the same era. I really need more Nancy Drew books.

Cheers for Patti!!

Hugs!

Oh, I am jealous! I read all the Nancy Drew books when I was young and loved them. I loaned the books out and they disappeared never to return. The covers on the new books just aren't the same.

What a fabulous gift!! How I LOVED Nancy Drew in my grade school years! I think my teacher got tired of all my Nancy Drew book reports, but that is all I wanted to read. I loved getting lost in all her books.

Hey...the 50's aren't old. I date back that far myself, I still have some of my ND books. Some of the Hardy Boys and Bobsy Twins.
