Hexie Hop

Hex2This morning, I have the honor and privilege of introducing you to a brand new book called Quick & Easy Hexi Quilts, authored by two of my dear friends and guild sisters, Dr. Peggy G. Rhodes and Julia C. Wood--or as I like to call them, Peggy and Judy.

In Quick & Easy Hexie Quilt, the authors teach you a new technique for making hexagons, a technique which, as the title promises, is indeed quick and easy. It uses circles cut from fabric, a needle and thread, and nothing else. One hexie can be stitched up in a matter of minutes. And you can make your hexies any size, depending upon the size of your starting circle.

Hex1
You'll be amazed at how quickly you can turn a stack of fabric circles into finished hexagons.

Hex3The authors: Julia C. Wood (left) and Dr. Peggy G. Rhodes

In addition to full instructions and step-by-step photography, you'll find a dozen beautiful new quilts designs in which you can use your hexies.
