Scrapping

Scraps2

I joined Victoria Findlay Wolfe's 15 Minutes of Play scrap swap last week. This morning I dipped into my massive scrap bag and filled a gallon size ziplock bag to send to my swap partner. That's it in the photo above. But I declare! I can hardly tell that my big old scrap bag has gone down a bit. It's like washing dishes and it seems like there's a hole in the bottom of the sink where somebody is putting more dishes in faster than you can wash them. I still have lots and lots and lots of scraps. And more are on the way. I'll get a gallon size ziplock bag full of new scraps, maybe some I don't have in my bag already, from my swap partner. I'm sort of getting tired of seeing the same old scraps every time I look for pieces for the Granny Square blocks.

Great idea to swap scraps so your Granny Square blocks will have a greater variety of fabrics in them. It is amazing what different fabrics are available at different shops and especially in different parts of the country not to mention what fabrics another quilter would choose for her stash. What fun!!

I am trying to gear up to tidy up my sewing room. It looks like a hurricaine has blown thru and in this small space, that makes doing any sewing a big problem. Due to family medical issues, Nancy Drew has become a UFO and is taking up too much space.

Hugs!

Hi Susan -
Swapping scraps is a great idea. With the cost of quality fabrics being so dear these days that's a great way to add more variety to your scrap stash without spending more money. I'll bet you can hardly wait to receive the bundle your friend is sending you to see what goodies you will get!

How's your ankle this morning, I hope the swelling has gone down and it's not troubling you too much. I just got back from my doctor's office. More pills, more pills, more pills.....ICK!!!

Wishing you blessings,
Linda

Ankle is much better, Linda, but if I stay on my feet fora while, it starts swelling again. No pain, just swelling.
Guess I'll have to see the doctor--AGAIN!

I know what you mean about pills. I have a basket full of pill bottles.

When I first clicked on today's post, I thought 'Oh, look at that clever woman. She has crazy pieced a pillowcase.' :-) Well who knows? A set of those might use up some scraps. :-) Have fun with the new pieces!
