Sick of Being Sick

Bedroom
New room begun in the Dollhouse Quilt.

I haven't got one stitch of sewing done since I've been sick. I did get the background pieces cut for the next room in my dollhouse quilt, the master bedroom. But that's as far as I got, didn't even get them sewn together. My strength runs out so quickly.

I got up this morning with the firm resolve to clean the kitchen. I got everything done except the floor. I'm afraid that's just going to have to wait for Cheryl on Wednesday.

I have been fever free for almost a week now, and the coughing is much better, although not gone. The main problem is my lack of strength. Weak as a kitten, as they say. But our kittens are definitely stronger than I am right now.

I finally found my doctor, who during the holidays was in transit from his old office to his new one. Actually my sister Ramey found his new phone number for me. I have an appointment on Monday. I'm going to tell him I need a shot of go juice.

Ramey also brought me a jar of local honey, which, combined with cinnamon, is supposed to be a sure cure for colds and flu. So I'm giving it a try. At this point, I'd just about try anything.

This afternoon, after another rest, I hope to get the wreath and swag in from the front door and mailbox. Something about Christmas decorations after Christmas depresses me. I rarely leave mine up this long. In fact, I don't know when I ever have. At least I don't have a tree to take down.

Happy weekend from all the animals at the Yellow House, including me.

And I wanted to thank you for listing In The Tall Grass in your sidebar, since somehow I'd missed it until seeing it there.

REST, REST, REST. Then rest MORE! Don't worry about doing stuff! Tell Jesse how sweet he'd be if HE took Christmas down for you! I wish I were there to do it and to help you out! I really DO! LOVE YOU!

Sending you wishes for a speedy recovery! Just take your time...don't be in a hurry to do too much! Hope the visit to the doctor brings some relief!

Bother and bummer!! Sorry you're still enduring the after-effects of the flu. You know I know whereof you speak.

I haven't had the uumph to put many of our decorations away either. The stockings, tree skirt, Christmas Eve pillowcases, wall hangings, and table runner are all tucked away safely for next year. All of the decorations, framed Christmas cards, Christmas pillows, and such were moved from their seasonal locations to the dining room table. Today I'm trying to get the ornaments off of the tall Christmas tree and have succeeded only in moving the special ornaments from tree to table until the table top is invisible. Sigh! If your doctor has any extra go-juice, I need some, too, please and thank you.

Wishing you WELL! Hugs!

I cannot believe you even thought about moping the kitchen floor! Wasn't that what you hired the great cleaning lady for? In case you don't recognize it - I am giving you Hell for for appearing to have lost your common sense. You have been sick for how many weeks and you weren't going to wait one more day for the cleaning lady. Now you have caused my blood pressure to shoot up. Did that other Dr. ever get your vit.D back to normal? Just thinking that Vit. D boosts your immune system, effects your energy level and may still be part of the issues this past month.
The books sound so good I am going to see if my library has them available. Do they have to be read in order? How are all your furry friends doing?
Thanks for letting me talk to you like a Dutch Uncle & a Jewish mother all at the same time. No matter how old we get we brush common sense aside because we are stubborn - mop the floors -yah that a good idea! Take care & Happy New Year Susan.
