I woke up this morning, just at dawn, with my left leg, hip, and knee aching. I changed positions, but that didn't help. Must be a weather change coming, I thought. I could never get comfortable, so I got up and looked out the window. Sure enough--rain.
On Monday, I drove to Hueytown where my doctor has moved his office. I was pleased to find that it really wasn't that long a drive. Since I can get on Interstate 20 about three miles from my house, and Dr. M's office is about a mile on I20, it's a straight shot. And since my appointment didn't require me to be at "Malfunction Junction" during rush hour, it was not a bad drive at all. So I told the good doc that as long as I needed to see him only a couple of times a year, and if I could get appointments that didn't require rush-hour traffic, I thought I would stick with him.
Dr. M. gave me a bunch of pills to take to try to break up the congestion and remnants of the flu that keep hanging on. I'm taking them, but so far, I can't tell a difference.
I'm so sick of being cooped up in the house. I did go out for grocery shopping on Sunday and then to the doctor on Monday. But most of the time, I just hang out in the house with the critters. Mostly in the bed or on the couch. My outings and activities that require movement have become limited to what is absolutely necessary. I want to get started with my plan to get more exercise. But first I have to get back a little of my strength. Of course, as many of you know, fibromyalgia is a strength robber to begin with. So I have some coming back to do.
I still haven't even been able to get any sewing done, and I'm really missing it. Oh well, I need to be grateful for what I have and what I can do and stop complaining.
Cheryl is downstairs cleaning. So I'm going to use this time in the sewing room to get the instructions written for this month's guild Block of the Month and make a sample block. It's a simple enough block and shouldn't take a lot of time.
Happy Hump Day, everyone.

Glad to see you're okay. Just be nice to yourself and allow your body time to heal. Hope you'll get stronger every day and are able to get back to doing what you like doing. It will all be there when you're better.

Bella looks so cute in her cozy box! Doesn't it make you wonder why anyone buys a cat bed when they find their own snug spots?
I'm glad you can stick with the doctor you like and trust since his new office is an easy drive from your home. Hope those pills do the trick in helping lots once you've taken them long enough to have a good blood level of the medicine inside you.
While you still need lots of rest, your can mentally escape within the pages of a good book. Perhaps if you have an embroidery or applique project among your on-going UFOs, you could stitch a bit once the BOM is finished. Maybe?
It is a puzzlement about which energy-robber is to blame for the fatigue following the flu if you have fibro (as you do) or lupus (as I do), isn't it? Whichever is the cause, the lingering fatigue is very annoyingly real. Shrea, shrea!
Hugs!

Oh man Susan, My hubby has been battling the same thing. It is miserable. I have to say though in reading through you past entries you still have your humor and fun observations of life. Hugs, Laura
