That's me. My health is going from bad to worse quickly. Only five days until Christmas Soup Night at the Yellow House, and I'm completely derailed. I can't even get my thoughts organized, much less my house, my shopping list, my plans to move forward.
The pain thing won't let up, even for a day. And then last night I suffered an allergy attack the likes of which I don't think I've ever experienced. It came on suddenly with coughing and wheezing and copious amounts of phlegm being produced. At its height, I thought I might choke into unconsciousness. It even scared Jesse. He asked me straight out did I think I was going to die.
I took Benadryl, but even so, it took about an hour to get the attack under control. This morning, my throat and nasal passages itch and are scratchy, I'm sneezing and coughing (though nothing like the attack), my eyes are watering, I hurt worse than ever (probably from all the coughing), my thinking and doing are sluggish, I'm dizzy headed, and I have precious little strength or stamina. Me and my plans for the holidays are completely derailed for now. I can only hope that things improve in the next few days.
So for now, I'm going to take a hot bath, have a cup of tea, and return to bed, perhaps with my door closed so that those little allergens (Skipper, Taco, and Bella) have to stay out. I'm reminded why we chose a schnoodle when we got Sophie: nonallergenic.
Peace, y'all.

So sorry you're feeling wrecked. I sympathize. Empathize. Shall we call everything off? Or give it another day or two?

Horrified to hear about your massive allergy attack. I had much the same reaction from cleaning a moldy window with Clorox Plus or whatever that spray stuff is. I was sick for several days afterward.

I did not know this until recently but note on this link that the person affected by anaphylaxis is not lucid. It happened to my husband. Quite surprising. Here is that link. Hope you will feel better soon.

I was so hoping you would be feeling better for the holidays. Please rest up as much as you can. I wish I knew something "magical" that would take it all away, but I don't - but, I will think good thoughts and pray for the best.

Oh no Susan, that sounds just dreadful....just what you don't need right now. I know it's easier said than done, but try to take things easy...I really hope the pain eases off and you are able to enjoy Christmas. Take care my friend.

Poor little Susan! That sounds HORRIBLE! I think your close-door-sleep-and-recoup idea is EXCELLENT! Don't try to DO everything. What you don't get done, no one else will even notice! I LOVE YOU! Feel better!

Am playing catch-up after our long day of travel on Thursday to fetch DS2 home for the holidays.
I am SO sorry you're so sick. Forgive me for wondering if this is the start of the flu like DH and I are getting over instead of an allergy attack. Ours lasted for a week with the runniest nose I've ever had, fever, utter fatigue, watery eyes like I was crying (never before for this, too), monumental sneezes, and coughing like my toenails would come up next. We're still coughing, sneezing, and get tired fast. Since Benadryl didn't help much, perhaps it wasn't just allergies.
Hope you feel much better soon!
Healing hugs!
