I found this potholder on the blog Freida's Hive and thought it was just so cute. So I made one.
I took it to quilting bee this morning and everyone loved it. So I might make some more to sell at our quilt show boutique next June. They're pretty fast and easy to make. They'd make good hostess gifts and kitchen shower gifts too. Or any kind of kitchen gift.
You can find an excellent tutorial to make the potholder. Just follow the link above to Freida's blog.
We had a great bee meeting this morning, while outside the rain poured down. I suppose because it's a holiday, only about half of us were there. And there wasn't much show-and-tell.
After the meeting, some of us went by Hancock Fabrics. I got some solid black fabric for the October block of the month, the kits for which I'll give out at the September meeting, and Mary U. took it home with her to cut it into strips for me. Now I have to get the instructions cleaned up and ready for printing. And bee meeting is next Monday. So bye, now.
Oh, and Happy Labor Day!

The potholder you made is SO cute and thanks for the link to the tutorial. What wonderful bits and pieces you must have tucked away so that you had the lace and trim you needed right at hand!
We had torrential rain for about 3 hours yesterday evening and got nearly 3" of rain, then it rained off and on all night and for most of this morning. It's good to live at the top of a hill!
Am busy changing summer decor to autumn and have already swapped my summer magazines (back issues) for the autumn ones. Next swap will be for Thanksgiving magazines and then Christmas. It's time to get busy on any Christmas gift projects you have planned! Me, too.
Enjoy getting the instructions ready for the BOMs and Happy Labor Day to you!
Hugs!

Well, this is a sweet little project! I love the colors and the design. I was also viewing your last few posts since I haven't been visiting for about a week and I loved seeing the photos of you and seeing that you cleaned up your sewing room. And don't worry so much about messing it up again. This just shows that you are a busy lady creating wonderful things. I love all your creations and can't wait to see your next projects.
Hugs,
Brenda

This is so sweet and charming. I love it. Definitely going to attempt it, thanks to the tutorial you've shared with us. I love anything having to do with kitchens, cooking, baking and anything 'hearth and home'- this definitely fits the bill. Thanks, too, for the link to Freida's blog, which I'm going to check out right after I post this.
