Skipper and I have been working in the backyard this morning. I've been spreading mulch while the Skipster dug a big hole up in the wooded area, all the while barking his shrill little "I'm digging to China" bark. Fearing neighbor Robert was reaching the end of his rope, I finally scooped up Skipper and took him inside, where he commenced to bark his "I want back outside" bark. Sophie just watched the whole spectacle with her "WTH?" Sophie look.
After I drank a gallon of ice water and showered, the dogs and I went out to survey our (my) work, and Skip took the opportunity to bask in the rays a few minutes. Now he's in one of the pink office chairs snoozing, and his sister Sophie is doing the same at the top of the stairs. I myself am about to take up residence on the couch and watch the "Downton Abbey" CDs that Ramey brought me. Does anybody know when Series 3 starts?

How do you like our ceramic plate border? I have to collect a few more cheap yard sale/thrift store plates to finish it.

Series 3 will start in Britain in September, but won't be aired on PBS until next January. Or so I read at one site.

What a cute border your charmingly mismatched plates make for your garden! Hope the rain will keep them nicely washed for you and that they'll remind Skipper the Excavator that the garden is off limits.
Hope you're not having the heat we're having. It's too near 100*F for any outdoor fun and getting into a car that's been outside is dangerous.
I haven't seen any of Downtown Abbey so need to check to see if the library has it.
Hugs!

Where did you get the inspiration for that plate border? It is really cute. So is Skipper, the little dickens. I can hardly wait for the next season of Downton Abbey. I hear that Shirley MacLaine is joining the cast as Cora's mother. That should create a few fireworks!

Another Downton Abbey fan here... I like your plate border. I have a "broken crockery" garden - bits of broken cups, flower pots (one of my mother's I broke and didn't want to throw away).

They are filming Downton in the Uk at the moment - I imagine they will show the next series starting in September there - not sure if you'll get them at the same time or a little delayed. Aren't they wonderful - even my Swiss husband is hooked on Downton! Make sure you watch the Christmas Special which came after the end of series 2......aaaah .....so romantic!!!! Love it!! Have you also seen Foyle's War - you need to try to get hold of that too - amazingly good!
